From a historical standpoint America appears to be headed in a very precarious direction. While there are extremes on both ends of the political spectrum, the more hazardous end of that spectrum is preferred by the current crop of politicians running Washington. Exercising more and more control over the lives of other people is just a lure that is too strong for many politicians to ignore. And tragically that same totalitarian impulse is also the cause of the majority of suffering this world has seen.

The Founders understood that a limited federal government was the best kind to have. Sadly, as that wisdom is lost, we see the disastrous results of the ever-growing state, not just here, but abroad as well. Even more distressing is the number of people who clamor for more government as the solution to the very problems government created to begin with.
