With the murder of abortionist Dr. George Tiller there is predictably a great deal of uproar from all sides. Tiller, one of the nation’s few providers of late-term abortions, was killed Sunday at a church in Kansas where he was serving as an usher. It is interesting to note that there is a ‘church’ that believes it is appropriate to have in its congregation someone who, according to most religious people, murders children.
Tiller has been painted by the mainstream media as a martyr for ‘women’s rights’. ABC replayed a 1991 interview in which he insisted, “I have a right to go to work. What I am doing is legal. What I’m doing is moral. What I’m doing is ethical. And you’re not going to run me out of town.” He was correct about having a right to work and what he was doing was legal, but as far as being moral and ethical, that’s highly debatable and easily refuted where late-term abortions are concerned. As one author noted, there are approximately 60,000 unavailable for comment.
Regardless of how one feels about (late-term) abortion, the fact remains that abortion is legal and Tiller was murdered. This will certainly not help the pro-life side of the debate and will undermine its efforts, as pro-abortion groups and the media exploit Tiller’s death for their own agenda.
On Monday’s Countdown show, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann blamed Bill O’Reilly for inciting the killer. I wonder if Olbermann will take responsibility should anything happen to the people he has railed against on his show?
MSNBC aired a live interview with Dr. Hern, a fellow abortionist and friend of Tiller, who compared the pro-life movement to Islamic terrorists. Hern said, “…the main difference between the American anti-abortion movement and the Taliban is about 8,000 miles.”
Roxana Hegeman of the Associated Press immediately perpetuated the myth that abortion clinic-related violence and violence against abortion doctors is a common event. She said, “But the doctor’s violent death was the latest in a string of shootings and bombings over two decades directed against abortion clinics, doctors and staff.” This is nonsense. According to the National Abortion Federation (NAF) - a pro-abortion organization - violence has been decreasing. The pro-abortion NAF even refutes Hegeman’s assertions.
Additionally, liberal blogs have falsely portrayed pro-lifers as joyous, with one titled “Anti-Abortion Groups Celebrate the Murder of George Tiller.” I read every excerpt they offered, while critical of Tiller, none could be described as celebratory. Although I am sure there are some out there, they are in no way representative of the greater pro-life movement, which has automatically been put in a defensive position not of their choosing. But the liberal mainstream media will naturally hype this story for all it’s worth, and it’s far from over.

They are just chomping at the bit to paint us as terrorists so that we can be persecuted by the government ~ and being “pro-life” outlawed. Once they silence the opposition they can kill even MORE babies!
I wouldn’t put anything past this administration.
