Michael Moore is at it again with another hit piece, this time attacking capitalism.
Moore was recently on the Jay Leno show and said, “Capitalism is actually legalized greed. There’s nothing wrong with people earning money, starting a business, selling shoes. That’s not what I’m talking about. We’re at a point now Jay, in this country, where the richest 1 percent, the very top 1 percent have more financial wealth than the bottom 95 percent combined.” I’m somewhat surprised Moore wasn’t recruited by team Obama to be the czar of the Ministry of Truth.
I wonder if Moore is equally outraged that the top 1 percent of income earners pays 40 percent of all federal taxes? According to the tax foundation: “In 2007, the top 1 percent of tax returns paid 40.4 percent of all federal individual income taxes and earned 22.8 percent of adjusted gross income.”
Moreover, notice how he refers to “wealth.” Wealth and income are two very different things. Some people earn very large salaries, but have little wealth, while some earn a more modest income, but have wealth (accumulation of assets). It depends on how they manage their income; whether they spend/invest it wisely or recklessly. Moore believes in collective wealth that is fixed and unchanging, as though all the money is tied up with a few, so no one else can have any. That’s not how capitalism works, but don’t expect Moore and his fans to understand that. Incidentally, huge wealth can be found with people like the Kennedy family, Firestone family, Bill Gates or George Soros - virtually all liberals. Strange, I don’t see them giving away their fortunes. I’ll gladly accept a check from any of them, but sadly none has been willing to take me up on the offer.
“That’s insane, we live in a democracy,” Moore cried. “We’re supposed to have like fairness and equality. And you know when you have a pie on the table … there’s 10 slices and one guy at the table says nine of those slices are mine and the other nine of you, you can fight over the last slice. I mean that’s essential the kind of economy we have now.”
We live in a constitutional republic, not a democracy. A pure democracy is essentially mob rule. “Fairness and equality” have nothing to do with democracy the way Moore means it. His version of fairness and equality means redistribute income, which is a Marxist idea. Additionally, he makes a classic error in his pie analogy by depicting economics as a zero-sum game. If I were Leno, I would have responded, “well, bake more pies then. And by the way, where do you live Mr. Moore? What is your net worth Mr. Moore?” He tries to pass himself off as some middle class Joe six-pack with his uncombed hair and baseball cap, but it’s all a deception.
Michael Moore now hits the road with his new film to declare, “capitalism is evil” all the while profiting nicely from it.

Who is Michael Moore, really?

I can’t believe you could say that Bill Gates and the Kennedy family don’t give money away. It just shows how ignorant you are and that you can’t do a simple search evidently. Bill and Melinda Gates give away enormous sums of money for education. It’s called the Bill and Melinda Gates FOUNDATION. It’s only mentioned on NPR and PBS on a daily basis. What else can I expect. I would bet anything that Michael Moore also gives away most of the proceeds from his movies. As for the Kennedy family, the service and sacrifice they have given for their country is more than enough as well as charity work that would put most Republicans to shame. I thought the movie was fantastic! People applauded and cheered in the theater I was in. Get used to it.
You obviously don’t read carefully and don’t understand the gist of it. Michael Moore, like most liberals, rails against “wealth”, like it’s some evil thing. But most of the wealthiest people around are politically liberal, but do not give away the MAJORITY of their wealth and live like a middle-class average Joe. They keep it – most of it. Why? Hypocrites. Their so-called charity work is a farce at best – it’s easy for the Kennedy family to “sacrifice” when they have a billion or so dollars stashed away in offshore accounts. Yes, I’m sure many ignorant lemmings that know little to nothing about the topics Moore manipulates in his films will applaud.
I JUST SAW CAPITALISH FOR THE SECOND TIME- NOW I UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED- CAPITALISM HAS DIRECTLY AFFECTED ME - MY OWN CHILD WAS YANKED OUT OF HIS HOME BY A BRIBED JUDGE (JUST LIKE THESE KIDS IN THE MOVIE -AND I HAVENT SEEN HIM SINCE- IM HOLDING ON TO MY ONLY HOME - BECAUSE OF THE FRAUD AND LIES AND CHEATS OF MORTGAGE BROKER WHO WERE INSTRUCTED TO LIE TO ME AS A SENIOR BECAUSE MY HOME WAS TOTALLY PAID FOR- SO THEY LIED TO ME LURED ME AND FALSIFIED MY ENTIRE APPLICATION RIGHT UNDER THE NOSE OF MY OWN LAWYER WHO WILL TESTIFYTO THAT- SO IM A DIRECT VICTIM OF CAPITALISM JUST LIKE MIKE MOOR IS EXPLAINING IN HIS MOVIE- THEY DID TO TO ME AND IM BEYOND MORE- THIS IS A MESSAGE FOR MIKE DIRECTLY: GREAT JOB, YOU SHOW COMPASSION AND YOU HAVE A GREAT HEART EXPOSING THIS FRAUD AND THESE BRIBES AND ALL THAT DIRT- I LIKE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I CAN DO TOHELP YOU
You are not a victim of capitalism; you are a victim of fraud. Do you understand the difference? A free economic system cannot hurt you, but crooks can. If you are so naïve to believe that socialism or a government-controlled economy will solve your problems, then you are a fool.
