In president Obama’s first six months in office, he has already been to the golf course at least eleven times. In the eight years Bush was in office he only played a total of 24 times, with a critical media reporting. The establishment media would juxtapose Bush with casualties in Iraq, or immediately follow-up with a negative story of some kind. With 11 golf outings in six months, and extrapolating for eight years at the current rate, means Obama would have played 176 times.

U.S. troops were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan on some of Obama’s golf days according to records kept by the Department of Defense. Additionally, Obama played golf after visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Memorial Day, and when he returned from the Holocaust concentration camps in Europe. However, there was no suggestion from the media that Obama was being callous by playing golf directly after visiting such somber places.

The situation is even worse today with the violence in Iran, North Korea threatening to launch a missile toward Hawaii, and a worsening economy. With all the dangers our country faces, Obama can be found on the golf course with a fawning media by his side.

Everyone blamed Bush for golfing and when he decided to give up golfing for the troops and everyone blamed him again for thinking that giving up golf was a good enough sacrifice to show his support for the troops. With the media, Obama going golfing is seen as a way for him to get away from the stresses of being the President. Honestly, I don’t think a little golf once in awhile hurts anyone. As for criticizing Bush, what more could he have done for the troops? Did people expected him to pick up a rifle and join the fight? It is absolutely insane, I am tired of this love affair between the media and Obama. Let’s see how people love him when we have another terrorist attack on our soil (although I am not trying to wish that more civilians are killed because of extremists). However, I am sure Obama will be fortunate enough that it doesn’t happen and the media can say that Obama did not have any terrorist attacks during his presidency unlike Bush. Also, what has Obama done in the past 6 months? At least Bush actually accomplished things that help this country, like tax breaks.
