welcome to obamaville sign at colorado Where Have All the Homeless Gone?

America was constantly reminded about the issue of homelessness during recent Republican presidencies, but when a Democrat is in the White House the homeless mysteriously disappeared. Did Obama give homes to all the homeless?

Newsbusters reported a story of a sign hanging at tent city in Colorado that reads, “Welcome to Obamaville Colorado’s Fastest Growing Community.” Outside of two Colorado television stations, no other media outlets found it newsworthy.

Actually, this phenomenon is nothing new, but merely a biased media working hard to put Democrats in a good light. The media enjoyed pretending homelessness was a big problem during the Reagan years, while virtually ignoring the topic during the Clinton years. The fact is, however, that homelessness increased during the Clinton administration. Patrick Markee of the Coalition for the Homeless admitted: “Definitely, we saw more homelessness in the 1990s than we did in the 1980s.”

According to the Media Research Center, during the first Bush administration, “morning and evening newscasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN ran an average of 53 stories on homelessness annually, compared to less than 17 per year during the Clinton administration.”

Don’t expect the mainstream media to rediscover the homeless any time soon.
