An AP article describes the Fort Hood terrorist as being a confidant of the radical jihadist Anwar al-Awlaki, a cleric with ties to al-Qaida. The imam said that the Ft. Hood attack was permissible under Islam. “America was the one who first brought the battle to Muslim countries,” al-Awlaki said. Although he never explains how, considering America was not fighting against Muslims prior to 9/11. So what prompted the 9/11 attacks then?
Additionally, Al-Awlaki admonished any Muslims who condemned the attack by stating: “They say American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan should be killed,” the imam explained, “so how can they say the American soldier should not be killed at the moment they are going to Iraq and Afghanistan?”
Al-Awlaki also praised Hasan as a model Muslim to be emulated:
“[Hasan] is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn’t exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a U.S. soldier. The U.S. is leading the war against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam. Its army is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest through its stooges. Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done? In fact the only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the U.S. army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal.”
How many more Americans will be killed while we are lectured by our leaders in Washington to not “jump to conclusions”? Meanwhile, the country will continue to be mislead by the media and this administration while the Democrats push taking over medical care (instead of more pressing issues like the economy or national security).
