Ed Schultz of MSNBC, another shameful individual in the mainstream media, called Sarah Palin “political slime” for apparently not being gracious enough in accepting David Letterman’s second attempt at a partial ‘apology’ (his first really was not an apology). But Shultz never condemned Letterman for making the crass and insulting ‘jokes’ to begin with.

David Letterman insults Sarah Palin by describing her as having a “slutty flight-attendant look.” Then he ‘jokes’ about her 14-year old daughter being “knocked up” at a baseball game by Alex Rodriguez, or that the daughter may be alluring to Eliot Spitzer.

I wonder if the same media and liberal special interest groups (e.g. NOW) would be silent had a FOX host said Michelle Obama looked ’slutty’? Or ‘joked’ about the Obama daughters getting “knocked up”? It’s a rhetorical question.

Letterman issued what amounts to a non-apology by saying he meant the older daughter, but that really isn’t much of an improvement. He’s only shifting the same insulting comments to the 18-year-old. Letterman also never apologized about the ’slutty’ remark.

Brent Bozell, President of the Media Research Center, explains how fake a liberal ‘apology’ can be:

Letterman’s ‘apology’ is slippery and Clintonian. He talked about the ‘perception‘ of his joke three times in his statement. He then goes on to say twice that he was ‘misunderstood.’

There’s no perception, no misunderstanding. The public understood exactly what he said - joking about statutory rape - and was outraged. It was David Letterman who misunderstood who was in the audience, as if making a degrading joke about an 18-year-old girl is much more acceptable than taking the cheap shot at her 14-year-old sister.

…and Shultz is angered by Palin?
