Former president Jimmy Carter said in response to a question about Wilson, “I think it’s based on racism.” Carter added, “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.” If this country is as racist as Carter suggests, then how did Obama get elected in the first place? Carter is just a bitter one-term failure of a president that is still angry at America for kicking him out of office.
Joining the ranks of those seemingly obsessed with race: New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, MSNBC’s David Shuster, CNN’s Don Lemon, NBC’s Matt Lauer, and many others who see ‘racism’ in place of principled opposition.
Maybe, just maybe, calling the president out on his lies might actually be based on the lies and not his skin color. But such facts are not to the left’s liking since it places them in an odd position of actually having to debate something based on substance. So liberals prefer to use various distractions to keep the public from focusing on the real issues, hence the continuous playing of the race card.
Democrats do not seem to realize that the word racism is losing its meaning by constantly crying wolf at anyone who opposes the president’s policies. Those who reject the president’s agendas do so for the same reasons they oppose Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi. But apparently if a white person does not support a socialistic agenda from a black politician, then it must be due to race.
