Obama once proudly proclaimed that science would return to its rightful place within his administration. But how can that be when his administration’s policies are in line with that of ’scientists’ who lie and manipulate data? The rightful place of science is not at some politicized extreme.

Patrick Michaels, a major climate skeptic, declared: “This is not a smoking gun; this is a mushroom cloud.”

What did these climategate emails reveal? Scientists who advocated destroying or fudging scientific data; suggested ways to stop dissenting views from being published; and suggested an effort to punish journals that publish ‘non-consensus’ articles. These so-called scientists are a disgrace to their profession.

So long as taxpayers are funding this kind of research, the climate lies and distortions will continue. There is no reason for the corrupting influence of this mixture to end when you realize that both groups stand to benefit enormously - the climate extremists give the government a reason to take control of the economy, and the government gives the climate extremists endless funding for their ‘research’.

Those in the mainstream media have downplayed this huge story, and still report that anthropogenic global warming is a “consensus” view. Science isn’t about consensus - either it is, or it isn’t. No matter how much data contradicts them, or the blatant attempts to manipulate and manufacture false data, they still insist “the science is settled.” If that were true, there would be no need for the environmentalists’ deception.

More clearly than ever, we see the marriage of science with politics has only produced bad science and even worse politics.
