Over at the blog Neo-Neocon there is an article worth mentioning called Tyranny and Obama: success or failure. Basically it is a reminder for Americans to keep up the pressure against this administration despite its declining poll numbers on various issues. Unfortunately, the establishment media is almost entirely controlled by liberals in lockstep with Obama; the watchdog has become a lapdog. Therefore, I think the author’s message is worthwhile and needs to be repeated often.

This administration is trying hard to stifle those alternative voices and make sure others are afraid to join them in reporting news unfavorable to Obama. The Left is already largely in control of education as well, which is a huge piece of the puzzle that must be in place, and it paved the way for Obama’s election.

I recently attended a state fair with a voter registration booth, and I couldn’t help but notice how many young people wore stickers saying they registered as Democrats. The hallmarks of youth are ignorance and naivety. So what does it tell you when the politics and philosophy of the left appeals most to the young?

Another warning sign is duplicity. All politicians lie at times, of course. But as I’ve said before, Obama is the first US politician I can think of in my lifetime in this country who has lied about his basic political orientation, presenting himself as something he is not: moderate, bipartisan, and post-racial instead of radical, intensely partisan, and race-focused. This is duplicity of a fundamental type.

Next we have an attempt to take control of the electoral process. This has been a long march, just as in education. The successful drive to drop requirements for proper IDs in many states is part of it. The Obama administration also made taking over the census an early priority, with a plan to involve the wretched ACORN in the process. It’s hard to avoid the idea that the goal had to do with cooking the voter books in favor of the Democratic Party. Once this is done, all bets are off.

Moving right along, we have the government takeover and/or control of many businesses and industries, and now the attempt to take over the health care industry, one of the biggest and most important of all…Then we have the expansion of the czars, and their radicalism. This is hardly an accident; it’s a way to get around the usual checks and balances.

Some have cited his lack of success so far as a reason to assume he will fail in the end. I think such a position is dangerous, because it fosters laziness and lack of attention to what’s happening….But the “it won’t happen here” position is not only dangerous, it’s incorrect. I submit that it depends on what the “it” is. Tyrannies don’t always look exactly alike. In fact, they only resemble each other in very broad principles, such as the reduction of liberty and the spread of state power.

America must be taught and reminded that the political left is an ideological descendant of authoritarian dictatorships of the past. If so-called ‘progressives’ bothered to trace their philosophical origins, they might be shocked to learn it’s the same philosophy that guided dictators like Hitler of the last century, or Hugo Chavez of this one. Yes, they may differ in degree, but not in kind. The Obama administration is doing everything it can to silence critics, and consolidate and strengthen government power. They still pay lip service to the Constitution when it suits them, but their actions are almost always anti-liberty (this is the ends justifies the means crowd). The left may have found new buzzwords, but their methods have not changed much from the days of Stalin and Mao.

For all the faults of Republican administrations, for the most part, at least they don’t try to destroy free speech, rig elections, or take away Constitutional rights. Liberal fascism is not just the title of a book, but an observable phenomenon that seems to grow daily in America. The more people are made to understand the dangers of losing liberty, and the disturbing admiration the left has for brutal despots, the better chance we have to turn this country around.

I agree! Day to day vigilance is vital at this point in our nations history. Reading good bloggers, listening to talk radio and absorbing Fox News is a great way to accomplish this end. They are all not without their bias but are, in fact, just about the only place you will find the other side of the story and even “un-broken” stories the “left” would prefer you not know about. Rush Limbaugh is most certainly on the cutting edge of all things conservative. At the risk of a shameful plug, my blog is a great daily resource for all things Rush! As is Conservative Blogs Central!

As far as the conservative movement is concerned: “A cord of many strands is not easily broken!” Together we can impact our nation for the better! Be encouraged!

Thanks James for the comment. You are correct that a cord of many strands is not easily broken, but the left will try to unravel it nonetheless!
